I love the LesConcierges team in our Sydney office. It seems every time I’m there we have something new to celebrate. Last week it was seven months in business. There are 57 of us and we speak eight languages: English, French, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Bahasa (Malaysian) and Thai. Which is a good thing because our Concierges service 37 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. We had a lovely party and a belly dancer added to the festivities.
Several months ago, the whole team went sailing in Sydney Harbour. A good time was had by all.
The magnificent Southern Swan is Sydney’s only authentic timber tall ship, making her a stand out venue for all types of corporate events. She has a rich history. Built in 1922 in Denmark of Danish oak frames, the Southern Swan (then the Svanen) traded as a grain carrier between Denmark and Greenland for the Tuborg Beer Company until 1969. She was purchased in 1969 as a private vessel and extensively refitted to make extensive ocean voyages, including service as a sail trainng vessel with the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets.
As Svanen, she participated in the 1982 Tall Ships Race from Philadelphia to Portugal. In 1986 after appearing at the World Expo in Vancouver, Svanen sailed to England to join the Australian Bicentenuial First Fleet Re-Enactment for the historic voyage to Sydney.
Throughout the year, Southern Swan offers the opportunity to experience the wonders of sailing a wooden tall ship voyages and adventures. Sydney Harbour Tall Ships specialises in catering for corporate and private functions including BBQ days, weddings and other special events. Up to 100 guests can be on board for cocktails and buffet cruises. We had a splendid time!
